The problem

Under the EU Battery Regulation, electric vehicle batteries, light means of transport batteries and industrial batteries above 2 kWh placed on the EU market need a digital battery passport from February 2027.

Manufacturers and importers need a way to register each battery, reference its documents and keep that record available along the value chain, without handing over the files.

What it does

  • Built on CORA, the digital product passport framework.
  • Each economic operator signs in with its own certificate, not a shared admin account.
  • Batteries are registered through forms generated from the schemas configured on the network.
  • Each document is recorded as a verifiable reference; the file stays in the owner's own storage.
  • Every change is recorded on the shared ledger, so the passport history can be audited.
  • The manufacturer portal is separate from the network core, so the workflow can follow the rules as they are finalised.
